Biomedical Informatics (BMI) at Arizona State University offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees, including an online master’s in Health Informatics. Research in BMI promotes collaborations among computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians, biologists, clinicians and decision scientists. Sub-fields include: Clinical Informatics (analysis of clinical and biomedical data to improve patient care and outcomes), Population Health (analysis of population and biomedical data to facilitate epidemiology), Bioinformatics (analysis of biological data to personalize medical treatment), Imaging Informatics (analysis of imaging data to improve radiology and clinical imaging), Cross-cutting Areas (natural language processing, knowledge representation, big data, data science, visualizations, and cloud/software architectures).
